My name is Andrew Morrow.

My qualifications are as follows: I have a post graduate diploma in Counselling 2002, a Masters Degree in Counselling 2004, and ongoing accreditation with BACP as a Counsellor since 2006. I am qualified and accredited in Eye Movement, Desensitisation and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) and currently working towards consultancy level. I also have a post graduate diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and have been accredited with BABCP since 2015.

My experience over more than 16 years is in a wide range of settings: I have worked in two Category A prisons providing staff support, 2004-2017, in a primary and secondary school setting as a children’s counsellor and setting up a school counselling service, also two occupational health settings as a counsellor. GP counsellor in various areas of the North East, addictions counsellor (voluntary basis pre-qualifying), student counsellor in a local University and Adult Psychiatry Counsellor in a local Primary Care NHS setting. I have worked in Improving Access to Psychological Therapies Service (IAPT) as a CBT/EMDR Therapist for 8 years and my most recent post is working as a virtual Cognitive Behavioural Therapist for a private company.

My areas of interest are: Trauma – especially working with veterans, road traffic accidents (RTA), assault, childhood sexual abuse. phobias, social anxiety, grief and loss, as well as other common mental health issues.


I offer private appointments at Durham Therapy Centre on Monday mornings.
