Esther DaviesI am a BACP accredited counsellor and EMDR therapist with over 20 years of experience working therapeutically with a broad range of clients in different settings.

I have worked in the charity sector for over 16 years specialising as a trauma therapist; working with people who have experienced traumatic events, sexual violence, abuse and complex mental health.

My Approach

Trauma often requires working with a person for a longer period but, in my experience, progress can be surprisingly quick. Whether you are struggling with the effects of trauma or facing a more general life difficulty, therapy can help you find clarity, strength, and new ways of moving forward.

I work in an Integrative and Person-Centred way, which means I draw from different therapeutic approaches to create a style of counselling that best suits your individual needs. My focus is on building a safe, collaborative, and compassionate relationship where you feel supported and empowered. My aim is to help you get to a breakthrough, a shift in perspective, or a process of healing that feels right for you.

I also offer EMDR therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), which is a structured approach designed to alleviate the distress associated with traumatic memories.

Supervision

I have been providing clinical supervision to both trainee and qualified counsellors for over 12 years, offering support and guidance for professional growth and reflective practice.

Qualifications

  • EMDR – Accredited by EMDR Europe Association
  • Creative Supervision – Jenny Biancardi
  • Post Qualifying Diploma Counselling Children & Young People – Quality Training UK
  • FdA in Counselling – University of Sunderland

Appointments

  • I provide both short- and long-term appointments to individuals aged 13+.
  • Face to face sessions: Tuesday afternoons & evenings but I can be flexible.
  • Zoom and telephone sessions: Appointments available throughout the week.

Cost

  • Counselling – £60 for 1 hour
  • Supervision – £90 for 1.5 hours
