Jane PearceAlthough I am very happy to work with any individual, my particular speciality is working with children and young people. I am a member of the BACP and work within their ‘Ethical Framework for Good Practice’.

I have studied many therapeutic approaches and would therefore call my approach eclectic, or a mixture.  I work in whatever way suits my client’s individual needs. This may be non-directed Play Therapy, usually with younger children or problem solving approaches such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and many things in between.

I believe that positive change is possible for anyone who is motivated to follow the process alongside a counsellor whom they can trust and with whom they can be themselves without judgement. For a young person this means that there is a possibility of reaching adulthood as a balanced, strong and empowered individual, letting go of issues, which could otherwise become obstructive to this development.

Appointments

I offer appointments at Durham Therapy Centre on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons and evenings. Cost is £70 per hour.
